Poor instructions on where to meet, conflicting information sent. Tutor was lovely did her best. Misread it as 4 hour session had I known it was 2 hours would not have booked with no materials given, having to take everything including the chair to sit on.

Lynn Armstrong was a great workshop leader, knowledgeable and enthusiastic. She guided through choosing a scene to paint, gave guidance and suggestions for composition and colours. All in all it was an excellent session I look forward to any other workshops she does.

Really encouraging and helpful session, lots of fantastic theory and technical advice that will really help add realism to my drawing. Would recommend to anyone even those who might not think fantasy art is for them as the teaching emphasises how to depict form, dimensional structure and movement

I thought the actual class was very good. Regarding the arrangements, there was some confusion over the venue which left us running between the library on Headrow and the Leeds Library on Commercial Street. In the end we ended up doing the workshop in Starbucks. Despite this the facilitator was unfazed.

Hef. Watercolour. I chose to do this on a gloss surface deliberately so the paint wouldn't dry as I was working on it. This forced me to work more freely without being tempted to overwork or get lost in detail.

This is painted in water-mixable oil paints on an 8"x8" canvas board. Several layers of paint but done wet in wet, Photo credit Fred Shively. I also painted this image previously in pastel 3 years agoI feel as though kitchens are becoming totally utilitarian fuel stations, instead of places where real food becomes nutritious meals cooked from scratch. This is a reminder of the purpose of kitchens.

This little painting is a commission for a ladies 80th Birthday, their Cocker Spaniel is really quite elderly, and what a soulful expression she has. Many of my paintings are humorous showing the sly, guilty or knowing looks we receive from our animals, but this serious expression felt right in this case. It has acrylic underpainting, with water based oils on top. 8 x 8in on cotton canvas.

I painted 'Cheveyo' spiritual warrior to portray an elder whose lined face and outstretched hand convey a life of experience. I set the large earrings, feathers and beadwork against a muted, smoky background so the gaze and gesture come forward. https://www.numonday.com/shop/papillon-store/

I loved this photograph from John Strachan photography and finally got around to painting it in acrylic. I tried to be quite loose with the painting as there was so much detail. in the end I thought the sky looked a bit bare so with the help of Chat GPT I added seagulls to the photo and was then able to paint them into my art work. This painting will be heading for the Aberdeen art show the end of August for sale.

I am Tracey, a self-taught artist from Plymouth, UK, I have been developing my coloured pencil techniques for the past year . My aim is always to capture not only the likeness of an animal but also the personality and spirit that make them so special to the people who love them.In this piece, Colin is shown resting amongst a vibrant meadow of wildflowers, his striking green eyes drawing the viewer in. The detailed fur work, delicate whiskers, and colourful floral surroundings were all carefull
